Fiddler's Elbow Country Club possesses one of the finest staffs of golf professionals in the country. Members benefit from knowledgeable and distinguished staff devoted to providing the best experience.

Our golf program is filled with a host of unique member tournaments and learning opportunities for golfers of all skill levels to enjoy.  The Club offers instruction for men, ladies, boys and girls by expert PGA & LPGA Professionals.  Private lessons, clinics, golf schools and camps are customized to the individual or group's needs.



Mat Kent, PGA

Director of Golf

Mat joined Fiddler’s in 2012 having come from Basking Ridge Country Club in Basking Ridge, NJ, where he served as Head Pro for five years. He has worked at several of the most prestigious private clubs in the area, including The Ridge at Back Brook and Hamilton Farm Golf Club. Additionally, Mat is the creator of Swing FORE Life, LLC, established to introduce boys and girls to golf via a proprietary teaching strategy he developed. He also serves on multiple committees in the NJPGA, with a focus on growing the game.

Kevin Gleason

Head Golf Professional

Kevin was named Head Golf Professional in 2015. He began his career at Fiddler’s as an intern during his undergraduate years at Coastal Carolina University. He eventually earned a degree in Business Management with a specialization in Professional Golf Management. His other club experience includes stints at Wild Wing Plantation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, The Bonita Bay Club in South Florida, and Grey Oaks Country Club in Naples, Florida. 



Kathy Hart Wood, LPGA

LPGA Instructor

One of Golf Digest’s Top 50 Women Instructors, Kathy Hart Wood is a several year veteran at Fiddler’s Elbow, where she has provided instruction to club members, while maintaining her connection to students throughout the country. She frequently conducts women’s and junior golf clinics. She has traveled the world, competing on the European, Korean, Australian and South African tours.



Mark Wood, PGA

Master Instructor

Joining his wife Kathy on the Fiddler’s Elbow golf staff, Master Instructor Mark Wood is recognized as one of America’s top teachers. Over his 25-year career in the golf business Mark has been associated with some of the finest clubs around the country. While the clubs are famous in their own right, it is instruction that really sets him apart. Being listed on both Golf Magazine's and Golf Digest Top Instructor list for many years, Mark currently teaches PGA star Bo Van Pelt, ranked 28th in the world. For Fiddler’s Elbow, Mark provides private instruction and develops special programs and events for the club’s membership.



Daniel Flint

Golf Events Coordinator
At the age of 15, Dan started his career in the golf industry as a cart attendant in his hometown of Hartland, Michigan. In the interest of growing his career and game, Dan moved to South Florida where he played on the Minor League Tour and honed his professional skills as an Assistant Golf Professional at The Polo Club, Boca Grove Country Club, and The World Golf Hall Of Fame. His move to New Jersey brought him to Trump National Golf Club, Bedminster where he spent six seasons.  Most recently, Dan comes to Fiddler's Elbow from the Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park, New York where he spent two seasons as the Director of Outside Operations and Caddie Master.

Dan is looking forward to being a part of the Fiddler's Elbow team.  With so many new enhancements to the already amazing facility and golf courses, it is an exciting time here at the Club and Dan cannot wait to see the future unfold.



Bill Schmedes

Director of Instruction

Fiddler’s Elbow is proud to welcome our new Director of Instruction, Bill Schmedes, PGA.  Bill’s true passion is helping players of all ages and abilities to improve at this wonderful game.  Bill is known by his peers as one of the top golf coaches in the country.  He was named a “Top 25 Golf Instructor in New England” by New England Golf Magazine, nominated by the PGA of America for “Teacher of the Year” 6 times, and most recently was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the “Best Young Teachers in America”. Bill joins Fiddler’s from the Gary Gilchrist Golf Academy in Orlando, Florida where he worked under “Top 100” and “Top 50” golf coach Gary Gilchrist. Bill was a head golf coach at the academy for over two years and assisted Gary with 12 of his PGA, LPGA, and European Tour players. These players include a former #1 player in the world, multiple major champions, Soleheim Cup Players, and President Cup players! Bill has spent the last ten years working and studying under many of today’s top golf coaches. He has had the opportunity to teach and run facilities in both New England and Orlando, and looks forward to implementing many of his successful programs at Fiddler’s!  For more information on Bill, visit his website
